Copernicus is a 24′ runabout, built by David Berg from a 1920′s George Crouch design called “Grayling Jr.” published in Motorboating Magazine. It was originally to be powered by a Gray Model Z motor, which was produced until 1927.
The boat is traditionally built, planked with red cedar on bent oak frames. The decks are book-matched red cedar and mahogany.
Bronze hardware was designed and cast by the builder. It is powered by a Mercruiser 4 cyl. 120 hp motor. It was launched in August 2002.
This boat won Best Runabout and Best Replica at the Victoria Wooden Boat Festival in 2003.
